NASA | Shadow of the Moon

On March 20th, 2015, the Moon’s shadow will create a total solar eclipse. This video presents several visualizations of what this shadow would look like from space, and highlights the areas of the world in the path of the umbra and penumbra.
The visualizations were created by calculating the position of the Earth, Moon, and Sun on this date, and by using Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter global photo mosaics and elevation maps.

Last saw a partial solar eclipse in 1996, was at work and we used old x-ray sheets to look through as we did not have enough glasses. This year have the glasses but not sure of the weather conditions fingers crossed, all though its another partial here in Edinburgh Scotland i am looking forward to the event. By the way I know one should wear protective glasses for total solar eclipses, but what is with partial solar eclipses?
Should one wear safety glasses for that aswell?

What an amazing coincidence that the eclipse photo shows the same earth with the same cloud formations as other pictures posted previously by NASA. Just without the eclipse.

Can someone please give me one reason why the shadow of the moon is moving with the same direction of earth rotation??? Don't tell me the moon is also orbiting the earth. I know that, but I also know it takes a month, so the full eclipse would take at least hours, not a few minutes.
