Awesome video! Every beekeeper should learn this. Learn about mites, and queen rearing, it's vital.

Good stuff, Andrew. I bought Mel’s OTS book last year. Now I just need to work out how to build enough boxes and frames!

Thank you Andrew for showing and explaining the QTS Method. I will be applying this method as well. Great video. Keep pumping more down to earth videos like this one. ❤️🐝

What a great video. I find a lot of beekeepers don't want the competition which is so sad when you think about it. I agree, queen rearing should be beginners knowledge. I just got my 1st hive in the beginning of July, split it into 2 hives and made a queen doing OTS but without notching, went back a little while later, culled the cells made with older larvae. Anything capped got culled and anything made out of brand new larvae was kept. It helped that I was able to remember where the eggs were in the colony so I knew where the youngest was. Anyways my point is that next year I plan on trying grafting as I believe I need to master queen rearing asap. Thankfully there are other ways of queen rearing but I can't wait to start grafting.

Thank you Andrew for an awesome video, I will definitely be trying OTS this year. You completely helped demystify the whole process - I am looking forward to finally raising my own queens.

Agree. Let's raise the beekeeping bar with the next generation of beekeepers and teach queen rearing. Afterall, the bees pretty much do all the work.
