CORRECTION:
Text on screen at 0:13 is supposed to say *This isn't the first non convertible yoga". Silly Autocorrect.
We're working on updating the on-screen text!

Alex found out the way to take Linus' place is to drop and smash things as much as possible

I am glad Alex is testing the durability of the packaging and products.

I actually have a Yoga Slim 7 2020 and it doesn't have the folding gimmick either. This is definitely not the first yoga to not fold completely.

I love when big companies mix up the names like this, thinking it wouldn’t create confusion because they think the customers are idiots and international information or reviews are a thing lol

4:30 You need to resize the Task Manager's window to see the RAM specs. This is a bug which Microsoft engineers don't hurry to fix.

I do miss socketed RAM and CPUs in laptops, as it really helped with keeping the few that people want to keep going alive and keeping them out of landfills for a good bit longer.

Thank you for finally forgoing the desk mat for the smush / deck flex test. It helps a lot in being able to see how much of the movement is the laptop frame itself. Please keep doing this for that (admittedly not exactly scientific but still helpful) test

Man Alex is so much fun as a host. My favorite is always the shop projects.

This looks nuts. I have 0 use cases for such a thing but the engineering put into this is impressive

I’ve never seen someone open a box so aggressively

No price information, or did I miss it?

Great presentation by Alex as per usual, and the cuts/edit was top notch!

Numpads are so damn important when using 3D softwares, as some of the features require you to use the numpads.

Numpads are basically a necessity for languages that use the number row on the QWERTY primarily for diacritics or special characters, I myself couldn't work without it. However, my gripe is the absence of full-size up/down arrow keys, which I also couldn't work without. So I'd have to pass on these if I'd considered them for on-the-go work.

Fun to see the Yoga series get some love. I bought a Yoga Carbon Slim 7 about a year ago and I'm super happy with it. I came from a Lenovo Yoga X1 4th gen that retailed for 28k SEK, to the Carbon Slim 7 that with a discount only cost me 12k SEK. And yes it is plastic, yes it feels like a toy, but it ticks all my boxes for a travel laptop.

The mystery switch is the 'reset button', it clears CMOS (and turns off the laptop) by disconnecting the battery.

The Numpad is literally my main reason for picking the 16" over the 14"

Imagine the volume of returns this laptop is going to get when people bought it expecting a convertible.

Almost all aluminium gets recycled in the end as it's a very expensive and intense precedure to remove the oxygen bonds and make it usable
I don't know too much about it, but I got the fact about the aluminium being recycled from the owner of an aluminium foundry, so it's probably true, but the stuff about the refining of aluminium is just something I googled quickly.
