Love that you did your day exactly as you wanted. Me and my husband were going to elope as we both hate being the centre of attention, and just wanted to get to the 'being married' bit. But at the last minute he changed his mind (only child so he felt sad for his mum missing out). So we had the smallest wedding possible - 4 parents and 3 siblings - and it was magical. In the past 5 years we've lost 3 of our parents, so we treasure the memories and photographs of that wonderful day. You don't have to have a huge, expensive day for it to be perfect ❤

You guys looked amazing, and the day (and beyond) looked/sounds perfect. We're 5 years in, and I still love hearing 'wife' and saying 'husband'!

We were pretty non-traditional, too. There was no proposal (I'm autistic and hate surprises/not knowing what's going on etc), we just decided together that we wanted to get married. We bought semi-matching engagement rings, and both wore them.
Then we got married at the registry office on Halloween. Just us and my parents as witnesses. We got ready at home together, I wore a black dress and Nightmare Before Christmas Vans, he wore black jeans and a linen shirt. I drove us there and we got lucky rain. Then we went away for the night. Had food at Hard Rock and a drink in a local pub.
I cried the whole way through and was just happy when it was over haha. If we could have just signed the paper instead of having to say vows, I would have!

Our original Honeymoon got cancelled due to CvD so we eventually got our Honeymoon last October at DLP.

To us, marriage is, as Benji said, between two people. We don't really have any friends or family, so we didn't need or want a party, and I hate being the centre of attention, so I couldn't think of anything worse than a traditional big wedding!

Oh, and of course, Congratulations again. It's obvious how perfectly suited you guys are and I wish you all the happiness in the world!

This reminded me so much of mine and my husband's wedding. We eloped to Antigua just the two of us, he helped me with my dress on our wedding day, we walked to the ceremony together and spent the entire day with each other. It felt so much more intimate and more us. I had a little wobble after I had my hair and makeup done but a glass of Champagne (and a tot of vodka in it) helped loads x
