I wonder how hard they looked at the neighbor with the puppy. He would have the familiarity, the access, and the dog to use as bait to lure her somewhere.

Isn't 5 year old too young to visit a friend and expected to return home by herself? 5...

I was a 2 yr old who tried to run away, and a 3 yr old. I asked my best friend's family to take care of me, also my neighbors. I lived in a chaotic hell hole. I was smart enough to know there were better places to live.
Hopefully Leanna is resting peacefully, alive and well, or in silence.

What mother lets a 5 year old wander around by herself? Not just this day, but it seemed to be a theme. Dude with the puppy seems shady. Even when she didn't arrive home, her mom sent the 10 year old out looking for her instead of doing it herself. Mom seems like a neglectful parent. Someone in the neighborhood knew Leanna's parents weren't watching her kids regularly and took the opportunity when it struck. She was an easy target.

Parents shouldn't allow a 5 year old to run freely unsupervised. That in itself is parental neglect, imo.

Beaner went missing when I was 17... I lived 5 minutes from Chisholm at the time, and this case has *haunted* our community. I hope there's closure for her family. Almost 20yrs without her. Now that I'm a mom, I can't imagine.
Thank you, Dr. Grande. I've never seen any other YouTubers cover this case.

What about the guy across the street with the puppy?

Clever play on MN motto. Other motto: “Nine months of winter and 3 months of bad sledding.” The MN state bird is the mosquito.

Holy smokes! I used to own a house very near LeeAnna's disappearance street. I was getting it ready to rent, that summer, and I remember having a series of young tenants with kids, after that. Chisholm is a lovely town, but economically depressed. I must have been too busy to read the Chisholm papers that summer. Poor little dear. The people could have used a car rental and dumped her remains into the Pillsbury mine pit. There are no mine shafts in Chisholm, just giant strip mine pits, the abandoned ones full of water, like deep lakes.

Matthew Curtis seems to be the likeliest suspect. Why would he bring an end to his own life on the day he was supposed to appear in court? And his statement that, if he did it, no one would ever find the body, is particularly disturbing.

Merry Christmas Doc from the frozen chosen up here in Ottawa. Vigilance is all you can do as a parent.

I remeber when I was 4 or 5 I was frightened by a couple one day when I was at my dad's shop.
the woman said to the man "she is so cute, let's steal her" when I was standing near the display window. Both my parents were in the shop but not close enough to see or hear. my mom dismissed it as just an expression, and didn't take it seriously. Lat I saw the woman when we were out shopping. I was terrified. Of I never was kidnapped but this was traumatizing.

The story of LeeAnna wanting to go live with "a new family", is really weird. If it is true, this 5 year old was very un-happy with her home life. Something was going on there and it makes me suspect the mother.

This is why it is customary when dropping a person off, to make sure the are recieved before you drive away.

A new video from, Dr Grande ! Happy Christmas 🎄🎅☃️❄️🎄🎅☃️❄️, Dr Grande, to you and your family from me in Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪☘️. I hope it isn't too cold where you are.
My sister wrote a note telling my parents she was going to run away. She was about five or six. Of course, she never did.
Edit My take on the dolls given by the stranger is, if I had a young daughter who had come home with Barbie dolls that a family or known friend hadn't given her I'd have wanted to know who exactly gave them to her, and where they lived. It seems very odd that the parents didn't make more of a effort to find out where the family Lee Anna wanted to moved in with lived.
