Going Broke for OEM Acura RSX Parts | Window Trim & Floor Mats

The cost of OEM perfection is NOT CHEAP! In today's video, the Acura RSX gets a handful of new and used OEM goods to clean things up! Needless to say, I'm missing my cheap Junkyard Honda Parts at this point...

Since picking up my (new to me) 2005 Acura RSX, there's been a handful of things I've wanted to restore or fix. Many of these things being parts I can still order new, but is the cost actually worth it? The short answer, no. But since I'm wanting to do this car to a beautiful OEM+ spec, some of these parts aren't cheap. So today we tackle the unsightly exterior trim on the windows and replace them with new OEM trim from Acura. Overall, a pretty straightforward install, just be careful not to break anything along the way!

To top that off, I'm a sucker for OEM floor mats and mine had seen better days. I attempted to re-dye the mats with duplicolor fabric spray, but wasn't happy with how they looked or felt. So, I dug DEEP and pulled the trigger on a set of freshy OEM Type S mats in charcoal grey. But because I'm a crazy honda person, I wanted the all weather mats too. So thanks to Hector and Obed, I was able to get a hold of a full set of the all weather front and rear mats.

So you're probably reading this thinking, Anthony did you just make a video on floor mats? Yes. I'm trying to document everything on the car (including the little stuff) to help the acura RSX community and because I think its fun. So I hope you can nerd out with me on this stuff too!

Thanks for watching!

Your OCD is awesome. It really is the little attentions to detail I love about this channel. The ruler with tape was clutch! Great build.

Very true, OEM+ tends to be a pretty expensive style.
But in my honest humble opinion though, It's usually such a interesting style that's very much worth it as long as one gets the right parts.
Some parts might look nice and OEM+ but in reality they're cheap replacements only meant to look slightly more fancy, But research does wonders.

I found a full set of four brand new mats for my 01 Prelude at a Honda dealer in Canada. Don’t know how they actually found them up but they were in the original plastic packaging. 500$ cad. Bought brand new Honda headlights for 400$ each as well and door moulding for 90$ each, getting hard to find parts for the lude so I was buying things before I need them. I keep my cars forever. Hello from British Columbia 😎

Loving the videos, just recently got into a Type S about 5 months ago (Something I've wanted since highschool 2010) and was tired of looking 5+ year old outdated Youtube videos

These cars are not cheap and i personally love it. Makes you appreciate the cleanest ones out there and it's truly a beautiful car in person. Online pictures and videos don't do these cars enough justice

Those window moldings annoy me as well. I ended up getting window moldings from a civic coupe at a scrap yard for free, (which were in perfect condition) and they were slightly longer than my rsx ones. Just have to cut them down to size.

I’m a huge Honda enthusiast and all sought after Honda’s from 88-2006 are jumping in value by the day and parts are even worse. I source parts for you tubers and other people in the Honda resto game. Hit me up if ya ever need anything new or used. Keep up that hustle
