What Is the Best Age to Start Piano Lessons?

I'm 37 years old and I started taking lessons last December, after a couple of years of self-teaching :) playing the piano is wonderful and fulfilling at any age!

I started at 39 years old.  After 3 years I started coaching other adult beginners.  They are so motivated!  I 'm 48 now and it stays a joy for me to help them on their 'pianoplayingadventure'.

I am 14 years old now. I started playing when I was 9 and took piano lessons when I was 12. But during those past years I did not really like dedicating my time into piano playing. But now, I know that it is important. I wish I could have started younger, but sadly we were not financially stable during my childhood years :'(

You have to admit some kids just can't get into music at any age. The philosophy behind the Suzuki school of music is that every kid has the gift of music. I've seen some parents enroll their kids and within a few years their kids quit and have no interest in music.
There is no age limit to get into playing music. I know someone who got into playing piano in his late 60s after he retired. The interest must be there. Along the way there will be hours of practice.

I started piano lessons at age 7. My parents never had to tell me to practice because I loved it. ❤ 🎹 I studied piano with a nationally certified teacher for 11 years.

Its always been a concern to me that I started to late (i started taking lessons on my 14th birthday) but I also had been in the middle school band since i was 12 and I practice for hours a day. Any opinions?
