Ricky is the male counterpart of reaching the emotional depth of Demi. His cover also causes me to well up with tears. I sing a karaoke version and am trying to reach a deeper emotional depth in my singing of this song. I sometimes picture myself in a deep pit crying out to God or of being far out in the ocean with not anything in sight to stir up feelings of desperation and aloneness.

Very soul resonating version of this song. Out of the numerous versions I listened to, this is by far the most gut wrenching one. This is how the song should be sung. The lyrics are fantastic. It creates the canvas that reflects so much of what so many of us feel or have felt, abandoned and alone.

I’m a recovering Alcholic, done 15 years off it but couldn’t have done it without my support group . Pay back ! That’s what we do, my pay back was to run what’s called the Cage ! In most major city’s on weekends the cage is rolled out and those who need medical attention due to any addiction ( or just need a safe place to sleep it off ) hopefully get to the cage .
One very hard, busy Saturday night an older guy, dirty obviously homeless came to the cage, sat in the ally, ( middle of cage where people wait to be seen to ) with buzzy cubicles either side of him and he started singing, beautifully, gruff but amazing voice, the volume was crazy . He sang Anyone .
Stopped time, stopped all of us and we all just listened to his song .
When he’d finished, in a noisy crazy busy cage there was calm silence, all I could do was give this stinky tramp like Angel a long hug and a heartfelt “Thank you”Only when I hugged him tight did I realise he wore medals on his chest . This homeless, war veteran, came to the Cage sang his Fcking heart out, for no reason but to help All in The Cage .
I’d like to think All in that cage heard what I heard . A Hero did his thing again that night for All in The cage, simply by making all of us listen to “Anyone”
None of us ever saw him again even though we kept looking for him .
I think was an Angel .

this song is very touching, arrangement and Ricky sing it very well.
when the situation gets worse like now, all areas have started lockdown, everyone has started implementing social distancing, I can only hope and pray this is just a nightmare and tomorrow when I wake up everything will be returned to normal as before.
