Why The Economist is endorsing Kamala Harris

If The Economist had a vote, we would cast it for Kamala Harris. She has run an impressive campaign with policies that reflect the need for centrist politics today. But, more importantly, a second Trump term comes with unacceptable risks. John Prideaux, our US editor, explains why she gets our endorsement.

When a candidate for POTUS says things they don't mean, that person doesn't communicate what they really mean, so then what do they really mean, what would they be saying if they weren't bluffing? I guess we can't know, so why vote for someone we don't know what their intentions are?

My rationale exactly. Regardless of policy, even, the blatant affronts to democracy Trump has, and suggests he would commit, is simply too much to even risk. How people can see such abhorrent acts and ignore it is beyond me.
