Chilling title drop. Can't comprehend how underrated this game is

if anyone's wondering, the lines are from an hp lovecraft short story called "the festival".

started the game like 25 minutes ago and this intro gave me the biggest goosebumps in my life. when a game does that for me, I just know I'm in it for the long run. really looking forward to my experience with this game

This and CONTROL have the fucking hardest title drops ever. With this it's unnerving and almost horrifically beautiful. With Control, it's an oppressive thud, and nothing more.

This game wrecked me emotionally. I've never connected so deeply with a character, like I have with Elster. I suppose it's because she reminds me a lot of my sister.

I stumbled onto this game one day on gamepass.

This opening had me hooked immediately, lovely music choice.

My brother in law FINALLY just started playing this morning. I got it for him for Christmas.

Every time I’ve seen him since then, I’ve said “you know how I know you haven’t started playin it yet…? Because I know that as soon as you pick up The King in Yellow, you’ll be giving me updates around the clock.”

Sure enough. He started playing today. He’s been texting me all morning. Lol 😂

It’s that intro cutscene. Perfect. Beautiful. Hooks you in.

All that I’ve texted him in response is

“ACHTUNG…
ACHTUNG…
ACHTUNG…”

The best horror game of 2022 and nothing else even comes close, Signalis should be dominating the conversation when it comes to modern horror gaming

This was the moment I became absolutely hooked on this game. Absolutely beautiful cutscene directing and loved the lines from "The Festival."

CONTROL, SOMA, now SIGNALIS. My favorite, most unnerving video games. To date.
SIGNALIS is something else. It's presented in a very unique way, and it's intensely, painfully metaphysical. A love letter to early Resident Evil, Mulholland Drive, and H. P. Lovecraft. It crawled beneath my skin and won't leave. It's been weeks now and not a day goes by without thinking of Elster/LSTR/Magpie/Kasasagi.
This game sticks with you. Seriously, the last time a video game story resonated with me so much is like a decade ago when SOMA was released.
SIGNALIS is a fever dream realized and presented in the best possible way. Literally the only gripe I have with it is that the aim system sometimes takes a second to register a target, but fuck that, it's not a shooter anyway. It is a perfect video game and living proof that the medium can be an art form. To think 2 people have made it is beyond... words.

I feel very lucky to have lived this long. It's a bittersweet thing to ponder. TLDR; beautifully painful video game.

only suffering awaits us from this point on interlaced by few solitary notes, memories of what we had just to make the end of it all even more bittersweet

Started playing this. The amount of emotions I went through during this can't be properly described. Confusion, fear, hopelessness, nostalgia because of the sounds straight out of the 90s. But also that feeling that something happened and I woke up not remembering shit but knowing there is something I must do and yet being confused about the reason. (Reminds me of depression and using substances even)

It feels both great and... Uneasy

If i learned anything from psychology horror, if you're starting the game with staring at your reflection, you know you're in for a good time lol

Idea 1: Elster is hallucinating the game whilst dying of radiation poisoning because she can't get herself to fulfill The Promise
Idea 2: Elster is just an eepy gal who is having funky little nightmares on the trip back to Rotfront

i found the song in the background !!! it's Preludes, Op. 28: No.15, Raindrop, by Frédéric Chopin and Mus Symphony. this part in particular is somewhere in the middle.

I hate how this version of the track isn't the one in the soundtrack, it's so impactful.
Since that's the case, I wonder where it comes from, as was the case with the other songs like Serenade or Summer.
