Then they drag you out of bed one morning for an impromptu assembly in the parade grounds where they're doing a homecoming out of the blue so you go and the vibe is not chill at all there are prisoners there and they're freaking out. Then one of the queen's advisors comes down and greets on the prisoners like she knows him and another of the advisors loses his g-ddamn mind and is hollering and swinging his sword around and talking to this dude that, now that you think about it, looks a lot like the advisor.

You don't know what is going or anything and you just have to stand there at attention and keep your mouth shut so you don't get run through on the spot...

I admit I loved how long it took N to fathom what is actually happening, just staring at what it happening before his eyes while he probably desperately fought the conclusion because of what it would mean. And when it finally clicked how hard it broke him.
