Struggling with water starts wing foiling? This method is so much easier!

If you're learning to foil like I am I got really stuck trying to get onto my knees and found the current way that videos teach us to get onto your knees isn't the best.

1.Lay on your board
2. Face the board cross wind
3. Bring the wind up over your head with your front hand in the top handle.
4. keep your hand in the handle
5. push up onto your knees
6. when you're ready simply extend your torso up.

This method works SO MUCH BETTER and in rough conditions it's amazing.

I'll put up another video when I convince my wife to come down and shoot me at the beach.

You saved my life… Been suffering to water start in a 75 l. (I’m 83K)for a few days trying different options with no much success until today I tried your way. What a it really help you to have the wing up and running very quick in order to get the important stability that gives you.
Thanks a lot

Thanks so much!! This is a game changer method. Now it's the only method I use and teach all the guys! Thanks so very much for this video. This changed my winging experience from tricky to being able to ride all conditions on sinker boards!

Good one, man. 🤙🏽 Seems a bit more intuitive than trying to get to your knees first. Can't wait to have a go with your technique next time out. Thank you for sharing the stoke! -Aaron

Thanks for your video, and some feedback below, i am going to order the 4'7" 80L of Macro air (air flow) type board, i am not sure this is risky or tough ways for learning of wing foils since some sales are storing recommend me to use at least 100 L or above, as a new wing player, my mindset is this technique thing right, even i use the bigger boards for the while, still take time to adapt smaller board if i change over it, that is a reason i want to directly jump into smaller board, hope this is right choice. btw my weight is 60kg..

Would you this be a thing I might use as a complete beginner?

I would drown in the chop by doing this and how to see a gust or even the next set rolling in. Everything works out in the end. That's the good thing. Thank you for showing your method :-)

Good vid!
In the forums they call it the stink bug start...i use it all the time.Quick and reliable in all conditions and boards.

Is that RS Pro clear traction on your sinker?.
I was wondering if it would be grippy enough without being abrasive on skin and wetsuit.Super lightweight solution.

So I never have issue balancing like you show at beginning, even in choppy water (I'm in 68l board at 150 lbs), but I will definitely try this when learning on low volume board. I know I would have problem balancing and reaching for the wing. Thanks for the tip!
