I go to a Christian private school and was shocked when my schoolmates had not only not seen the movie yet, but hadn’t even heard of it. I loved this movie and STRONGLY recommend it. Obviously they took creative freedom but everything was so well put together. Would see again!

Something I love about this song is how Mary's sisters spend the whole song telling her that being married off is a good thing and when they finally manage to wear her down they say"Guess we'll see" because they know they are lying to her and themselves and know the marriage isn't guaranteed to be happy and they know they are next.

I have no idea why so many Christians got pressed about how Mary was portrayed here. Does anybody really think that every teenage girl was thrilled when she was presented with a grown man she didn't choose to be her husband? I don't care what the culture was like. Mary being shown having doubts doesn't take away from her obedience to God or her parents. Real faith isn't about not having doubts or fears; it's stepping into God's will for your life despite that.

This film has had so little publicity in the UK, I managed to get to one of three daytime showings that our local Odeon did, and now the film has finished even before December. I'm not a Church going Christian, but absolutely loved this film, it's a great soundtrack and brilliant leads... I just wish I could see it again before Christmas.

So sad I wasn't able to support this film, financially, by watching it in theaters :(( Got to watch it in a streaming site a few days ago and I was at the verge of tears... gained a newfound appreciation for the anunciation and the birth of Jesus. One of the best films of all time. 10/10 would recommend.
