Here's what I respect most about Charlotte in this scene: she doesn't care the guy behind her is incredibly handsome. She doesn't even pause when she glances back over her shoulder at him. She either is extremely goal-oriented or as disinterested in looks as she claims. Whichever it is, I admire her tremendously.

She mimicked Golda Rosheuvel's maneurisms so accurately and she looks a lot like her, they casted her, and the king really well. I wasn't super into the prequel before but this changed my mind, can't wait to see the rest of it

i love this scene so much! the writing and casting is incredible. i love how the queen’s younger actor got to capture the mannerisms and energy that the older queen has. the chemistry between them is AMAZINGGG too!! it comes off so natural. no need for editing, just raw talent ;) can’t wait for S3 and this queen charlotte series ❤

The second he takes control of the conversation is so… UGHHH. The instant tension that entered the scene is why I think this is the best love story. They don’t need dramatic effects, music, or slo mo, just their chemistry changes the air.

The real life love story of George and Charlotte is both beautiful and tragic and this seems to catch their energy. They were such wonderful equals, such profoundly good supporters of each other before he got sick. They’re one of only a handful of historically accurate happy marriages. I hope Bridgerton does them justice.

The look on his face is EVERYTHING! He INSTANTLY fell in love with her at the 0:42 mark. She had him at the very beginning. However, the look.on her face when she finds out she is speaking with the King himself is priceless! This clip is going to live rent free in my head until this series comes out.

What I like about this so much is that neither one of them lies to each other at all. So often in these meet cutes they continue the farce for far too long, and the constant misunderstandings become annoying. I find myself constantly thinking why won't someone just tell the other one what's going on, please! I really like how they're both very direct and honest. He does wait a second just to kind of see what she's going to do, But when she pushes it he flat out tells her no, I'm not going to help you and this is who I am... This is going to be fun. So far the writing looks great.

The casting director did a brilliant job. I've never seen a character in a prequel with the exact mannerisms as the character in the original story. Whoever was responsible for the casting deserves recognition. Bravo.
