He loves her so much that even with his illness he remembers her. She is the only constant in his life and it melts my heart entirely 🥺

When he said you did not go over the wall, I believe he meant not just on the first day they met, but she never left throughout their marriage, even though she could have at any time. Their love is a sign of pure resilience and loyalty to each other. Truly heartwarming and tearful.

The saddest most heartwarming scene I’ve ever seen. I was not expecting to be crying so much 😭

When he said "Our line" it sounded perfect. You won't hear his insanity, his years of struggle, his age, and all. It's just George. Like he has always been to Charlotte.

I cry every time I see this scene. The acting was phenomenal, the writing was absolutely beautiful and moving, and the music moves you in such a delicate way. The camera work in which each actor sees their younger self with them because that’s who they still are to them and who they fell in love with is so beautiful and heat-wrenchingly tragic. The way that young George says thank you to Charlotte breaks me. This written love story is my greatest of all time.

I would’ve cried regardless at this scene but I think what got me crying like a baby was the back and forth or their younger self to their older self

I'm crying. Especially the "No, George, I did not go over the wall." True love indeed! <3

I love how it shows them looking at each other and it changes to them seeing their younger selves in each other. After being married for 20 yrs I can totally relate my husband has more wrinkles and less hair to the outside world but to me hes still the tall handsome man I fell for.

This is the saddest yet the most beautiful ending of a true love story. Thank you, Shondaland for bringing this beautiful love story to the screen.

I absolutely love how when Charlotte looks at George she sees the young George. So beautiful that after all these years hes still the handsome man who charmed her at the garden wall. So beautifully done

I feel that when his younger self says thank you to her, it’s him thanking her for accepting him the way he is. Thanking her for saving him from the torture. Thanking her for truly loving him the way he is. Thanking her for being so strong and protecting their line.

Their younger selves wearing the same outfits as the very first time they were under the bed together is so adorable. So many decades had passed and yet to them it might as well be as no time had passed. Every time I watch this I cry all over again and yet I still come back to it.

What makes this sadder is this is probably one of their last interactions. Charlotte would eventually pass away in 1818 shortly after Edward's child (future Queen Victoria) was born. George continued to believe his wife was still alive, unable to understand she already died, and fell into further madness before passing in 1820.

By far one of the most beautiful ending for a story about of the heartbreaking effects of mental health… and the love that conquers all.

I was bawling 😭 Literally throughout this entire scene. My heart was breaking from the purity and resilience of their love. I also cried during their first opening dance at the ball in this episode too! Just because they were absolutely breathtaking together. I didn’t know watching this last episode would have me in such a sensitive fit of tears. We’ll done Shondaland. Well done! I’m an absolute mess now. ❤😭🥺

The directing choice to put both their old & young selves was so amazing

Can we all love each other like this? No matter our flaws, no matter our shortcomings, no matter our imperfections. What a beautiful world that would be.
