Your comment about "Lighting a fire for him". If you have an oil lamp that is lit, you can hold a torch, light the torch instantly with the oil lamp, then use the lit torch to light up something in 10 minutes at a high success chance.

thing I realized last night>>>> Take off or put on cheap plant clothes when at home base. Every tick of the clock drops the durability of your stuff. Not a big deal with plant clothes but when you start making copper reinforced armor it becomes painful.

Building a dock creates a fast travel marker on your map. I place docks at every fishing spot around the map. You can fish from your boats but only at the designated fishing locations. You've read that fishing book that unlocked the leaf bait, which works well and doesn't spoil. It's really easy to make, too.

Now that you've built the canoe, I believe that unlocks the next island where you can get copper. Once you get there, you will want to build a dock and a small base. I recommend building on the east side of the main island as close to the mountains/cliffs as you can. All the copper deposits are in the mountains.

As others have commented, resources will eventually respawn to full. It just takes a long time. When starting a new game, I highly recommend setting resource respawn to as fast as possible. Copper respawning was a huge bottleneck for me. I wound up stocking up on food and then sleeping for 90 days at a time to allow the resources to refill. Very boring but effective.

So the canoe can be upgraded twice, giving you a hut and a fishing spot and a larger container. After you find copper, another island, you get more ship options.

books go on shelves, in crafting list there is an eye symbol to show all recipes even if unknown, raft, canoe, catamaran, stormbreaker, schooner (large), ark (huge and can put machines/benches in it) for boats.

15:56 If you move your work benches inside you can craft in the dark without getting injured. If you really don't want to move the bench, then YOU go inside and target the bench through the wall. The "home" buff gives you a bonus to avoid injury that offsets the darkness penalty. You can also target your bed from the bottom floor so you don't need to climb the ladder every time you want to take a nap.

There are 5 regions and i still did not go to the last one but for others you unlock 1 or 2 ships in each - one of the goals needed to go to next region is to build certan ship to get survival point.
Be shure to find 2 tool kits that can be found aroun sunken ship

ps I hope you know about the upgrade tab things like the de-hydrator and the Canoe you can upgrade without breaking it down

Great video as always. Use the clay that you have to build the next level of campfire. Once you do that you can create salt and then salt the meat that you get. It lowers the amount of food you get from the meat but it lasts a very long time. You should also look at building the water purification machine. The next region is a lot hotter and you will be going through water like Homer Simpson at a donut shop. 🙂

being able to harvest seeds when you collect them will make me happier when that update comes out. if i remember they had the same problem with the resources only returning 1 item before and they fixed it but this could have come back because it came out into 1.0.

hey Kage! keep in mind that in this game you ll not sail with raft all the time ; mid spoiler that ther ll be bigger ships later on. really try to rework ladder into stairs cuz sometimes you would like to unload your ship with 200cap/kg/w.e weight metric so that you put it straight from ship to cart and then pull over to base and unload instead of just running from ship to base and over.

So much to do, so much fun! Just make sure you explore in the water, and keep your old books to put on the shelves. I think you can make rugs and trophy heads, and they add to your base's comfort so that you sleep better and maybe craft faster? Really enjoying this!

Each node will eventually regenerate back to its maximum number of resources. That timer is for each, not for the full amount.

Don’t throw to much into that small area, most of the boats will not fit in the bay and when you fast travel the dock won’t work. And will spawn you in a random location out in the ocean. The used up books can be used to start fires faster and more reliably

So just a future kage tip. The next area is a big step in difficulty, its also going to eat up your water. So Id save all your dried dates because they are lots of food and they dont take any of your water when you eat them like the salted meats. But water is key for sure 😊also the things respawn one at a time, but will stack. So if the obsidian mine hokds 8 obsidian and it takes 10 days to respawn. It will respawn 1 every 10 days until it gets to 8

I'm surprised you didn't upgrade the raft. The first upgrade is super cheap and adds a chest that carries up to 100 weight. The second would also have been easier for you and adds a log carrier. You could have moved your base with the upgraded raft much faster than walking with the cart because of its extra carry capacity and the fact that it doesn't use stamina.

When you made your canoe, it should have unlocked the solid canoe which is better and has more storage. I just took my canoe apart and made the solid one. Also there are many more ships as you explore.
