MK6 Golf Automatic Transmission Fluid Change

This is a diy way of changing the fluid in your Volkswagen MK6 Golf Jetta Beetle.

This method also was the same for my old mk4, so I think it should work for most automatic VW’S.

Thanks for watching.

Great idea using the siphoning method with just a tube and a plug adapter. Please share the plug adapter info where I can get the exact one that would fit my 2010 Golf.

Did you have to shift through each gear while letting the engine heat up? And did you measure the amount that came out so you knew how much to replace?

Thanks for the video 🙌👏

Hey man. Why did you change the fluid in the first place. I’m curious because I’m thinking of doing it also. My 4th 5th and 6th gear is slipping. Is there anything you can recommend?

Mike, how is that ATF fluid working out, since it isn't what VW recommends?

Does it need to be level when you have the overflow coming out? How do you get the plug back in if it’s not jacked up?

Going to try this method tomorrow on an 2012 GTI (mk6). I had a leak (fixed now, long story), so I can’t really measure how much comes out when gauging how much to put back. I was thinking start with 4 quarts and then if nothing comes back out add more. Just want to make sure I have the right amount before putting the plug back on

I have a 2014 model 2.5 mk6 which is an auto and after some time in traffic it shakes the cabin when increasing its rpm slowly from 2to3 gear, and after sometime it shows the 🔧 at the section where writes PRND
After i turn the car off and on again it removes the 🔧
I have checked it for tranmission issues with computer and it doesnt show any error on the tranmission
It shows only this P0106 (manifold pressure bar )and P2096 (poor catalist fuel trim)
Do you think this two are related to the transmission? And in your opinion what should i do?

What I do is poke a small hole in the oil jug and with an air nozzle blow the oil into the cavity. But not too much where it blows the oil jug up and oil all over the place. Don't ask me how I know that hahaha

The car needs to be level and trans temp at 40°C or 104°F measure with VAGCOM scan tool.

How many quarts of ATF did you end up using? Thanks for making a video

Leave it to the Germans to figure out how to overly complicate something as simple as changing transmission fluid. I've got multiple bolts to take out. No way to add it from the top and it has to be done at a certain temperature and level and you got a jack up to get underneath the car. Wow. After watching this video it still isn't clear to me. How you know how much fluid to add. Apparently the multiple bolts control the fluid level automatically? There's no dipstick?
