I Explored the Abandoned and Forgotten House of My GrandFather Jaak!

STORY
We dedicate this episode to the memory of our grandfather Jaak, who passed away early this year at the age of 87 years old.

Documenting his place was important to us to create a lasting memory of our loving grandfather. He lived in the house for the majority of his life. Together with my grandmother, they had. nine children, and at one point, all of them lived inside the house. More than two decades ago, his wife passed away, leaving him alone inside the house, but he always found a way to occupy himself. The many interests of Jaak are evident throughout his place, in case it's pool, cycling, or pigeon fancying. Whether it was a very busy past or more peaceful later years, the house was a home for our family, and together with our grandparents, it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Jaak.

Lesley and Jody please take this advice from a 60 year old woman (who feels she was only 18 a few years ago) that life goes soo fast. Keep documenting and remembering past lives as, believe me, you will soon be an 80 year old yourself, wondering where all the time went.

The jars of soil are so interesting! Instead of collecting thimbles, or shot glasses, or plastic souvenirs, collecting a small amount of earth is genius! Also, the deep groove in the bottom of those wine bottles is meant so that the wine server could hold the bottle from underneath and pour. It's a lost art. Condolences on the passing of your Jaak. My dad died in June 😿. I didn't have the blessing of being able to spend time in his house after he died and you are so amazingly blessed thank you for sharing I wept healing tears throughout.

So sorry for your loss. I was blessed with living with my grandparents until I was 15 years old. I still remember every inch of their home. It was a large house, about 4, 000 Sq ft and so beautiful. I treasure those memories.
