Really love that you took the time to do the research and create this comparison, thank you.!
It has been enjoyable to watch and learn the difference between the two.

I love them both but I follow Dr. Greger always because it is more up to date science based.

Dr. Greger and Dr. Fuhrman are the one two punch to good health!! Love them both. I have lost 20 lbs and feel so much better! I really believe they are like two brothers on the same mission. I read and listen to both and their suggestions are the only ones that have worked for me in the last 20 years.

Thanks for this! These are two of the doctors who I trust the most, so I appreciated your comparison. I love using the Daily Dozen app. It really helps me to crowd out unhealthy foods, because by the time I've ticked off all the boxes I'm not hungry for anything else anymore!

I was hungry a lot trying to eat the Nutritarian diet plan. Dr Gregor's plan is more sustainable for me since I can have oatmeal for breakfast and then beans AND rice with my veggies at lunch. I'm more satisfied with that extra starch.
Nice video.

Thanks for sharing the comparison. I’m just starting on my journey and wanted to compare The Daily Dozen with Eat to Live. You’ve helped that process a lot! Thank you! 😃

I have Type 2 Diabetes and my exceptional doctor (who cares about me and PREVENTING diseases) recommended both "The End of Diabetes" by Joel Fuhrman, and "How Not to Die" by Michael Gregor. I've read both and can't recommend them more highly. I tend to follow Fuhrman's guidelines of eating less grains more closely than Gregor's. They have really helped me to control my blood sugar numbers for diabetes and keep the weight off. At 69 and a little over 3 years of being diagnosed with diabetes, I'm still not on diabetes meds of any kind and my A1Cs are consistently below 6.0 (my most recent ones being 5.5 & 5.4).

If I could recommend only three books to better understand and control one's diabetes, it would be the above two AND "Blood Sugar 101 - What They Don't Tell You About Diabetes" by Jenny Ruhl. As I like to tell people about BS 101, "It scared the sugar out of me", teaching me how serious diabetes really is. It was the educational slap in the face I needed to change what I ate, exercise, and loose weight sooner rather than later and why I wanted to avoid diabetes meds as long as possible - maybe never. Michael Gregor's book with the chapter on diabetes alone is worth the price of the book; you won't be disappointed if you have diabetes and read any or all three of these books - they're SO much better than any medicine you can take or instructions commonly given in what you'll learn in a typical diabetes class. I think they'll greatly motivate you to eat more nutritiously as they did me.

You might think I'm a vegan or even a vegetarian, but sadly I'm not - YET -- but I'm working on it -- by eating much smaller portions of meat as I learn more and more how harmful it can be in controlling diabetes and one's overall health. Like many people, I grew up on meat and potatoes (or pasta), so this concept is a major change in my lifestyle, but surprisingly easier than I thought it would be. As Dr. Joel Fuhrman likes to tell us, "The Salad Is The Main Dish"; a large bowl of salad with all sorts of veggies has become a daily meal for me at least once a day. But if you have diabetes with even the START peripheral neuropathy in your feet, you come to realize that pain is a powerful motivator to eat, exercise, and live more wisely.

Just starting using the Daily Dozen app. Thanks for the info on Dr. Fuhrman's insights!

You could make a Real Food Pyramid
1.5 cups of beans
berries & fruit
big salad
greens & other vegetables
1-2 tbsp ground flax seed (Omega-3)
intact-grain cereal or bread

Thanks for the comparison! I love both of these Doctors! I really appreciate Dr. Greger's constant education when it comes to health and healthy eating! I'm currently doing Dr. Fuhrman's Eat To Live program for weight loss! And just now getting to reading Dr. Greger's book, How Not To Die! I thought His videos educational...nothing compared to his book!

Cool comparison video. Thanks for posting this. I follow Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen, and I'll look into Dr. Fuhrman's recommendations as well.

Thank you for the video! You didn't mention a fundamental difference between the two plans, though - Dr. Greger doesn't set upper limits for how much of any of the daily dozen foods you should have in a day - he just says "try to have AT LEAST this much every day."

Thank you for your analysis. I've been following Dr. Fuhrman for a few years and found out able Dr. Greger a few days ago. I find that their reasoning for eating certain foods are similar.

Thanks and also for pointing out how much a serving is on each!

Thanks for this comparison! It's great to see how the good doctors are, in many ways, splitting hairs. However, some of their differences are important to many of us as we progress down our paths of health. Keep up the good work! ❤️

Thanks for showing the small differences in these two diets.

I think another reason he recommends using the nuts in the salad is that if you use nuts to snack and you're trying to lose weight you can easily go over your limit and it will negatively effect weight loss goals.

This is awesome. Thank you so much. I’m reading the books but sometimes I just need an answer.

Hello Mrs Plant and everyone - thank you for this video; it is helpful. Am recovering from high cholesterol levels, chronic fatigue syndrome, poor digestive heath, weak endocrine glands. I enjoyed oats, green skin apple and berries, nuts for breakfast this morning. I was previously on 801010 Diet / mostly fruit-based which did not work well for me. Look forward to more videos.
