"I love iron maiden!" meant something totally different in 1485.

If this guy doesn't get a cameo in some tavern in the next season of the Witcher then everyone's time has been wasted.

When the band starts to play this at the kings wedding, you know you arent the only time traveller around.

This unironically started my journey into listening to metal music. I used to be (and still am) really into folk music and those bard-core covers, and after listening to this I checked out the original Maiden song, and now I own a couple Maiden CD's I like them so much. Thanks so much for this!

When you're the best bard in town but need to be back home before the street lights run out of oil.

Who would have ever guessed that Iron Maiden could be such an influence on medieval music?

If time travel ever becomes possible "medieval people react to Iron Maiden" has to be the first thing we do

This channel is must have for DnD players who love playing Bard but can't play instruments in real life

When travelling in Tallinn, Estonia in 2001, I saw a trio playing 'heavy metal' with medieval instruments...That was magical to see this great performance in the old city.

There's a fine line between band geek and rock star. This man unifies both groups.

My dad used to say that if you can't play music classically, then it can't be considered real music.
Hate to tell you dad... I was right all along to be listening to Maiden.

Lo, I the man doth walk alone
An as I travel a dark road
At night or strolleth i' the park

An as the light doth begin its change
I shalt feel a wee bit strange
I shalt feel anxious when tis dark

Fear o the dark, fear o the dark
I hath a constant fear that something lurketh near
Fear o the dark, fear o the dark
I hath a phobia tis someone e'er there

Hast thou run thy fingers cross the wall
An hast thou felt thine neck skin crawl
As thou searchest for a light
An sometimes thou dost fear to take a look
Unto th'corner o the room
Thou sensest something spyest thee

(CHORUS)

Fear o the dark (×8)

Watchest horrid plays before
Debatest witches an folklore
These unknown troubles i' thy breast
Mayhap thy mind it playest tricks
Thou dost sense thine eyes doth fix
On shadows as they steal thy rest

(Chorus ×2)

An as I travel a dark road
I be the man who doth walk alone

I remember this guy when he was just a fledgling at the bards college in Solitude. Glad to see him doing so well!

I am a hema practitioner, a medieval history nerd and a die hard Iron Maiden fan. Words cannot describe how I got filled with joy while listening to this.

Not sure why Iron Maiden hasn’t played with a live orchestra. They are the absolute perfect band to do it.

Iron Maiden has always been medieval stuff played on modern instruments.
