Показать описание
Timothy Walker is a survivor. Raised by a single mother with six children, Timothy watched his family fracture over the years. His brothers joined a gang and ended up in prison. His father abandoned the family when Timothy was seven. Homeless, they moved from shelter to shelter and finally settled in a motel. Timothy is motivated to change his community through the Community Coalition. He helps organize young people and speaks regularly to decision-makers about the resources needed in his community. Timothy will be the first in his family to go to college. He wants to become a teacher and plans to return to South Central.
Timothy Walker was honored at the 24th Annual CDF-CA Beat the Odds Awards ceremony on December 4th, 2014.
