It's December so you know what that means: the final release of the year - 2022.12! It has been a crazy year for new features but they aren’t quite done yet as this release includes some cool additions like another new dashboard card, a super nifty local calendar, even more Bluetooth proxy support and the small matter of the first Matter integration!

You've made it Lewis! Linus gave you a shout out!

Have to say I'm really impressed by how you just gather all that info together and share it in a very user-friendly way, with use-cases, straight to the point. Also, have been watching your videos in the past, seems like the stress from your voice is just gone by, and you're much more comfortable in front of the camera rn. Good job!

My favourite is definitely going to be the local calendar! Especially if we can make automations happen based on events!

You are by far the best Home Assistant YouTuber. Keep up the good work.

Shelly devices were in the forefront on home automation when I started a few years ago, but I feel like they haven't kept up with technology. Too bad actually, but we move on and as tech changes try to find the best solutions for what we strive to achieve IMO.
Thanks for your contribution to the HA community!

I am super stoked about the shelly integration of ble. I have shellies around the apartment and I hope to use this as presence detection.

The local calendar is a lovely edition! I hope you aren't losing the plot too much programming your 2.5k devices!

Man, Lewis getting all of those new sensors of his set up seems to have taken a toll on his ability to speak!
All kidding aside love to hear the news and I can't wait to get my sensors!

Home assistant continues to grow so fast... it's getting so good I'm considering convincing my wife to switch off of the Apple Homekit side of things (I bridge nearly everything over and keep it clean in homekit for her while I use home assistant myself).

The new "tile" is great but it needs a color temp and a hue "feature"

Love the Christmas thumbnail, and you should definitely set your LED lights to Christmas colors if there RGB.

Local calendar for sure, but I hope that could be more features in the future, like load a spreadsheet with national holidays

A small breaking change is that music assistant still doesn't work with the 2022.12 release. They are working on fixing this issue

How cool no1. Looking forward to my trendy, super-duper sensor. Thanks for all your videos

Does the calendar offer a complete caldav server? A local calendar really needs to be able to support existing devices to be most useful, so for example viewing the various HA calendars using iOS's built-in Calendar app, etc.

I've just discovered Home Assistant, and want to use it for smart circadian lighting in the house I'm remodeling in Mexico. One thing I came across is the STM VD6283TX45, which seems like a very good sensor for outside ambient light information. But I'm a complete newbie for sensors. Could you do a video to show exactly how that sensor could be incorporated into a sensor and how that sensor could be incorporated into Home Assistant? I've looked for information on that topic, but cannot find anything that helps me. If you can, thanks loads. If you can't, thanks for a great channel. I've subscribed to your channel and to Home Automation Guy. You two do a very good job showing the ins and outs of this stuff.
