If you're using commercial toothpaste—you may want to think twice. Today, I will explain the benefits of healthy saliva and how toothpaste affects your health.

Here are the benefits of healthy spit:
• It contains electrolytes
• It contains friendly bacteria
• It contains an enzyme that helps you break down starches
• It contains a protein that helps coat vitamin B12 to support absorption
• It contains sodium bicarbonate to help neutralize acids and maintain the correct pH
• It contains white blood cells and anti-pathogenic factors
• It makes hydrogen peroxide to combat tartar or plaque

It's crucial not to disturb the chemistry of your saliva. If it's altered too much, it can lead to:

I've been making my own toothpaste for 2.5 years, coconut oil, baking soda and peppermint oil extract, no cavities and so far no issues, just clean white teeth. Glad Dr Berg confirmed it!

i ridiculed my parents whey they told me to use NEEM tree barks instead of tooth paste. My grandfather lived till 100, only used Neem tree barks, Sea Salt and harcoal powder mix. Never had any dental issues. Thanks Dr. Berg for the tooth paste recipe. OLD is always Gold.

To scale up, use

I am 62 and have been using this recipe for over 10yrs. I have tried some of the "natural" toothpastes but my own concoction seems to work just as well, costs a lot less too! I have fun experimenting with using different essential oils (love spearmint + clove). I have also dabbled in a bit of oil-pulling. In any case, I have had no dental issues whatsoever! This man's advice is priceless! ❤

The anti-plaque recipe and protocol absolutely work! I descaled my teeth, brushed (very soft toothbrush) with this toothpaste recipe, then followed up with 5min. of oil pulling (coconut oil and clove oil before bed, peppermint in the morning) for 10 days or so. Zero build up, whiter teeth, perfectly smooth surfaces. I never had this good or this long lasting of a result with regular toothpaste (2x per day), flossing (daily), and mouthwash.
Two thumbs way up, Dr. berg!!

Again, I've been duped! My toothpaste was fluoride free but had sodium laureth sulfate, and carriageenan.

This makes so much sense why my mouth gets so dry after brushing my teeth, this could also explain receding gums even when brushing regularly

I just use a little baking soda on a wet toothbrush and that is my toothpaste. I learned this one in prison, which is the only option available for those without money in there. I tried "fancying" it up, but it is more work than it is worth. I have absolutely no plague and have not even had to have my teeth cleaned in over 10 years so far.

9 teaspoons or 3 tablespoons baking soda

I love Dr. Berg's videos but I also retain a healthy amount of skepticism about everything I watch online. Yet when I scroll down to see that he actually summarized the video's main points and put the recipe straight in the description - thus allowing people to skip the video and not watch to the end - I have to say, that definitely gains my trust. That makes me feel like he's not just here for the views or the stats. He really does want to help people and disseminate this information in a way that is as easy as possible to understand. Love it. I brush with just Clove and I love it. Not Clove oil though, but ground up whole cloves, so it's a powder. Found in the spice section of grocery stores. It makes my mouth feel super clean, and it has really improved my gums! I also suck and chew on a whole clove bud in the morning and at night. I use Hydrogen Peroxide for a mouth wash too sometimes. His recipe is great! Just don't forget the clove, it really is amazing!

I started using baking soda about 70% of time and was having problems with teeth and gums and they have improved significantly just with baking soda

Excellent, Doc, I conquered candida overgrowth in my mouth by simply brushing with unrefined coconut oil and then my mouthwash is 1 oz distilled water, half teaspoon pink Himalayan salt, half teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon avocado oil, 6 drops peppermint oil, and six drops tea tree oil. 3 months in between cleanings and my dental hygienist was astounded at how healthy my gums were and that there was literally nothing to clean off my teeth and just as importantly, I Incorporated the same treatment to my sinuses but instead of six drops each on the essential oils just two drops each and not only has bad breath vanished but no more swelling in my sinuses.
Doc you never fail to bring crucial knowledge regarding health and well-being and you are greatly appreciated.

Have been using baking soda, coconut oil and peppermint tea essential oil for a few months now and my teeth are whiter, stay clean for longer and there is absolutely no difference apart from that it is better than the toothpaste. Wish I started this earlier.

If the amount of time someone has sat in a dentists chair was a measure of dental experience I’d be a leading expert in the field. My teeth were already bad to begin with since I was a teenager, but then years of vegetarianism and a few years of veganism ruined my teeth, and I paid for it dearly; rampant tooth decay, half a dozen root canals, extractions, infections, abscesses, antibiotics, complex and extensive dental caries, the list goes on .... going to the dentists became a course in torture, needles, freezing, pain, this went on for decades. Then I switched to a high cholesterol, high fat, high protein and high salt diet, and included supplements of fish oils and super mega doses of vitamin D3, about 50 drops (50 iu) per day. Within about three months ALL my dental pain suddenly disappeared, jaw pain, mandible and maxillary pain, cavity pain and generalized mouth pain stopped. Veganism was ok, for a while, for me, but it should have only been a temporary diet, not a long term activity.
