As a 40+ year plumber, DON'T do this. The only things that should be inside the toilet tank are the components that came with it from the factory. Anything else added to the tank will interfere with the function of the internal mechanism.
Edit : to be clear, the only things inside the toilet tank should be what the manufacturer recommends. No tablets, don't modify the flush mechanism, etc. Use of in-tank cleaners (ie blue tablets) voids all warranties of the toilet. Plus they make a mess when the tank needs service.
