maybe its very late but theres also another method
1.try checks ur java version is the lastest one (i also got this issue when i update my java and restart my pc the server that it says cant connect to server will be fixed)
2.U can try to delete ur launcher minecraft and re download again this also work
3.if all this doenst work u can try use mobile hostpot or something

THIS WORKED FOR ME! Im currently hosting christmas server with some friends, and for some reason it randomly stopped letting me connect to the server with my servers ip, but i was still able to join through localhost. However after doing the dns flush, i can now join again. Thank you!

bruh, after i did the flush dns thing not only it didn't work but now my laptop can't connect to my monitor

i've restarted it, checked updates, other devices can connect without any issues and even tried on different monitors. is there anyway to reverse it?

none of these worked. I live on my own and own my router, first off. I was playing with my boyfriend and suddenly the server died. I reset my router and computer and found I couldnt connect via the IP but I could still connect via localhost. I tried all of these options that were applicable and nothing worked. My system pings my ip just fine, I flushed the dns, reset my computer, reset my router, re-port forwarded, and its still not working. I don't know what to do :(
