Decisions, decisions. In this episode of The Next Big Thing, Magnus Walker is torn between two would-be classics: the Ferrari F355 and Ferrari 360. The former marked the end of the iconic wedge shape design; the latter set the tone for today’s sweeping shapely looks. Two generations but the same Ferrari driving appeal. Which one does Magnus choose?

The “clink” sound of the gated shifter is awesome!

The 355 has a delicacy to it unknown from modern day Ferraris. Also that metallic wail and intake noise of the small V8 is unmatched today especially with the turbocharged engines.

Still think the 355 is the most beautiful automobile ever designed, and the greatest sounding Ferrari ever. I still remember when I first saw it in 'Goldeneye' in 1995 and have been in love ever since.

I love the way the microphone captured the sound of the gear shifts on the gated manual. To me (and probably most people), Ferraris have always been about the special noises they make, and aside from the engine, the gear changes of that famous gated manual are my favourite. Great video👍👍

360 is better car, but 355 is just more iconic and has a timeless design.

The 360 represents the best of two worlds: it’s modern yet visceral with minimal driver aides. The manual 360 represents the peak for Ferrari before the computers all drove the cars.

The 355 is very, VERY pretty. I’m a sucker for the 70s/80s/early 90s style Ferraris.

360 looks are underrated. It’s time will come.

360 Modena is the one for me - just love how it looks and sounds. 355 is ok but never grabbed me the way 360 does. Wish this was longer video

I would want the car that doesn't need an engine-out service (the 360). But if you buy a Ferrari, you have to be prepared to pay through the nose for service. These cars have become a lot more economical to buy, but the service costs haven't gone down at all. I've never thought the cost of the cars was outrageous, it was the cost of ownership that has scared me off.

360 please! impressions made upon my impressionable youth in the early 00s do die hard. plus the 360 just seems to be perfect bridge between vintage and modern right now.

Great video! Fair comparison. I've just bought a 355 berlinetta with manual in silver with nice wheels, challenge rear grill and cream leather. Collecting it in 3 weeks and driving it 1700km to second home in Italy. Pumped!
