Relatives of Russian Plane Crash Victims Receive Counseling

Many relatives of victims involved in the plane crash in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula have been receiving psychological counseling near Pulkovo Airport, St. Petersburg, Russia.

After hearing news a Russian plane had crashed, a number of family members rushed to the intended destination of the plane, Pulkovo Airport.

St. Petersburg media broadcasted the news of the plane crash on television, radio, and internet from 10:00 on Saturday. When the government officially announced the plane crash, most relatives who had gathered in Pulkovo Airport could not control their emotions. Many were subsequently sent to a local hotel near the airport.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry sent psychological consultants to provide relatives of victims with professional counseling. According to the spokesperson of Emergency Situations Ministry, most of the passengers on the plane were from Leningrad besides two Ukrainians and one Belarusian. Most relatives were said to be beginning to come to terms with the tragedy.

Further arrangements for the victims’relatives have not yet been released.

The Russian passenger plane crashed early on Saturday in the Sinai Peninsula, killing all 224 people aboard.
