"Because this is comics, it is needlessly complicated." The man speaks truth.

My favorite is actually the X-Men: First Class story, where Erik accidentally cripples him by deflecting a bullet away from him into Charles' spine.

As someone that's really only followed the X-Men through the old Saturday morning cartoon, I still found this really interesting. Kudos. - Justin

Stop killing Xavier.

I like the First Class movie explanation.
Because it's simple and not overly complicated.

I really loved the XMen: First Class film and I always loved that explanation (the bullet deflected by Erik on the beach in Cuba) the most. I love it because the idea of Erik doing it deliberately was a bit too much for me because they are ultimately friends who disagree and wouldn't likely want to kill or torture one another. I love that it manages to recognize that but still make it Erik's fault- Erik wasn't paying attention as he was blinded by his sense of purpose that one moment of reckless behavior created a divide between them that would mean they could never again be fully the friends they were when they were younger.

Its also made tragic because Erik was even justified in his motive during the moment because a human was in fact trying to kill him. Moira and Erik both cared for Charles & thought they were defending him but it was the conflict between man and mutant that paralyzed him. When they both realized what happened - they were both horrified at their role in it and yet blamed the other.

professsor:"i formed the x-men to protect earth from this alien when he'll return".
a few years and writers later,
"i actually formed the x-men to protect the earth from this other alien"
cyclops: "didnt you say you formed the team to protect mutants and those who hate and fear them?"
professor: "no, its all about aliens, and evil twins who were never even born."

I didn't realize that the X-Men: First Class scene of Charles getting paralyzed referenced the Ultimate Universe. Thank you for enlightening me.

Nice theory but without proof, it doesn't have a leg to stand on

Someone should make a story when he gets his spine fixed but decides to still use the wheelchair, saying something along the lines of "Screw this! I know how it's going to end!". :)

So Xorn was pretending to be Magneto who was pretending to be Xorn but he was actually Xorn?! Mind blown.

What if the Shadow King was Lucifer and he just changed his name to distance himself from his superiors who abandoned him. He could have been banished to that Astral plane which could have done some funky things to his appearance and powers.

Just as a random unrelated thought, my boyfriend and I just talked about how much we appreciate your videos and how in depth you go. I had a feeling, if you were a journalist, you'd be awesome! You're basically a comic journalist xD

Can you do something about fourth wall breaks in comics (No Deadpool cause that would be boring) but like she-hulk or Howard the duck? You could make a comic misconceptions about that maybe?
