Thanks for the video! A tip to anyone doing this in survival, I removed the 2 glass from the dispenser level or adult cow height and replaced them with stone slabs. This way you can use a sword with looting and fire aspect to get more leather drops and cooked beef. PLUS you get all the XP from the cows!

Thanks, here are some tweaks I made in case anyone is interested. I added dispensers (with stone buttons) for the water blocks to reduce noise when I'm not breeding the cows. I'm not sure if it's related but after that I noticed fire spread is a problem with the signs blocking the water (signs below the lava are fine); so I had to use opened iron trap doors in place of wooden signs there. I use a wooden button against an observer block to trigger the lava dispenser, which perfectly times retracting the lava just after it travels all the way across, this way I don't need to flick a lever 4 times per cook.

As a refugee from Java, I miss entity cramming but love this farm. You can also set up observers that trigger the lava when a cow grows.

For anyone who is having trouble getting the cows into the farm, try placing 4 trapdoors and opening them were the cows are supposed to go and then break them when your done

I recommend using trapdoors in area of cow storing area for breeding if you are making this farm in survival because cow sees trapdoor as a full block and it is easy for them to fall there

Every single time these videos are shown in creative and miss things - like that you don't need 6 glass if you're breaking 4, you need 10 glass...

For anyone wondering about the lava bucket. 1 bucket is enough. He just forgot it because it’s pretty obvious unless you’re a new or causal player.

This design can be used for a pig farm too if you use slabs instead of signs, and I haven't tried it yet but I think it could probably be used for chickens and sheep, too, using the slabs instead of signs

Edit: Never mind I realised you need to CROUCH in order to place the hoppers leading into the chest. Thanks for the guide!

so i did this but i guess you have to wait for the cows to be adults to flip the switch. because the lava is just hanging out above the baby cows and none of them are dying

I'm in bedrock and my lava doesn't stay in the bucket when you flip the lever back. Even quickly, the lava dumps completely and doesn't disappear. Did I do something wrong?

Worked for me in Minecraft bedrock realms, be-aware destroying glass and placing sign is a bit tricky.
