Apparently there was a boating accident upstream and a 7 year old boy, his sister and his uncle fell in the river. The girl was rescued before she went over, the boy survived the fall in his lifejacket, but the uncle died.

I live in Niagara Falls, last year my friend committed suicide by jumping over it. I went down into the gorge with some others looking for him, but we never found the body. These are the most powerful falls in the world, I would highly discourage anyone from trying to go over it.

Back in 1990 on a school trip I saw the guy in a red kayak go over the falls from up stream. Still remember police there with hand guns drawn calling him to come to shore

I went to Niagara Falls a few summers ago and just two weeks after we left to go home we heard someone had fell in and not been found. It was so much fun seeing Niagara Falls though, it's really cool! Especially at night with all the lights! Also, the boat rides that go right by The Falls are so much fun!! It's really cool but scary :)
