Benjamin Netanyahu, who is expected to return as Israel's prime minister, is thought to be close to announcing the formation of Israel's most right-wing government of all time.

Netanyahu has been locked in weeks of negotiations with ultra-religious and ultra-nationalist parties, in the hope of forming a coalition between them and his Likud party.

Last month he signed a deal to give an Israeli government post to an openly homophobic ultra-nationalist party leader. Avi Maoz, the head of Noam - a religious-nationalist, anti-Arab and anti-LGBTQ party - will be a deputy minister and run a "Jewish identity" authority.

Maoz heads Noam, a religious-nationalist, anti-Arab and anti-LGBTQ party that argues for a strict interpretation of Jewish religious laws in Israel.

Israel is the most civilised country in the whole region. And their civilisation MUST be protected at all costs from the uncivilized Palestinians, who are hell bent on violence, at the drop of a hat. From my readings, there was always an Israel in past, centuries, l think it was mentioned in the bible, and Palestinians need to make do with the land they have got. The problem here is religion: each side including israel think their religion is superior. According to some NDEs: they were told by a higher being that: some religions on earth were false, man made to control question is, which ones are they. Even in Islam: different arms of Islam are reducing each others mosques to rubble. We have catholics and protestants in N Ireland in the 60s and 70s causing friction between each other. What the Palestinians should do is stop the violence, accept their lot, and get on with life.

The extreme left and right is never a good idea. Any government wants to be as close as centre as possible. So this isn't a great move for Israel.

However, their religious freedoms must be respected by the now very authoritarian west. Homosexuality is seen as sinful in most religions. Unfortunately, the West are just going to have to accept this and stop pushing their beliefs onto the rest of the world.
