Favorite passtime since i started my rust addiction: going to steam market and sorting buy lowest price. It's like thrift store shopping.

btw the cauldron doesn't have a hitbox meaning you can overlap things into it if it's put down first. you can also put it down before you put down a foundation and have your cooking out of the way completely

Check out the building skins, some have smaller hit boxes on double door frame. When you build a roof to shoot from, there is an invisible collider on the pay skins that prevents you from falling off.

I got the whiteout and forest raiders kit when they first came out. Sold them for a steamdeck.

Frog boots were a gift for early access players that then went and purchased the game upon release. I like my froggy boots!

I'd go for the Festive Garlands or Skull Spikes instead of the Chinese Lantern since they don't require any fuel and give enough light

Armor sets that match the different biomes are OP, and whether or not you have those barrels available completely changes what kind of bases you can get plentiful storage into. Other than this, I'd say there's not much reason to do DLC except for your own aesthetic preferences. Those lanterns are so nice, though.

Hate how much ppl sleep on bone armor, freaking default BP. 25% projectile protection for both pieces. Only 30 cloth and 100 bones for the full set. Literally just skin 3-4 players with a bone knife or a combat knife. Having a set that gives you full 25% projectile resistance like scrubs or ninja but for only 30 cloth total is huge. Not to mention that against NPCs like scientists that counts as 50% protection. Against animals that's considered 80% melee protection. Skin the bodies you kill, bone armor is worth a lot in the early game but cheap to make

The old Xmas lights that didn’t use power were really good to mark a Heli landing pad and for illumination. I sold mine for over $100 on the marketplace.

Festive Garlands are also a good way to give you some light in your base and it only costs cloth to craft them

Arctic Hazmat never should have been paid. Tbh no gameplay effecting items should be but I guess 40 million pure profit a year just isn’t enough for Facepunch.

Industrial lights ar very handy. They are cheap, consumes only 1 energy and you have them from the start. You just find battery(small or medium) solar panel and you have lights in your starter base. And the light from them is much better than ceiling lights. it makes nice, even white light, doesnt hang from ceiling. Long story short, if you like to have lights in your base, you should buy this lights.

you can use industrial lights to grow plants but they illuminate only one planter box at a time!

Surgeon scrubs require a tier 1 workbench (you can't craft them whenever you want)
its not like a ninja suit

I would also add the Adobe and Brick skin for stone. Can create a pixel gap without even doing any build out :)

Cursed cauldron can also be placed inside boxes so helps a lot if you want to have a very compact base

The barrels from frontier pack are really p2w you can make storage room with about double the amount of space compared to the box

So happy I got surgeon scrubs when they first came out for like 5 to 10 dollars.

fun fact when snow machine released u could bunker an entire mine entrance from your base below making your cave 100% unraidable. this lasted a few weeks before fix.
