If someone is in the gym and judging others, they are there for all the wrong reasons. With that said I can't speak for everyone, but in my opinion the gym is a place to better YOURSELF not worry about others! I can understand the intimidation, but forget everyone else you are there for YOU!

I agree. I understand the "simple" video may be annoying to the intermediate/advanced trainee but its the common knowledge that people forget or simply ignore!

Just focus more on a calorie deficit through training...also you may need a diet break if you have been dieting for 4 months in a calorie deficit. Adjust as necessary and there is NO need to do so much cardio especially if you dont enjoy it! TRAIN HARD!

I appreciate your honest. I can recall being taught as a kid in gym class, and even hearing it from various peers, that you would build muscle by lifting heavy weights with low reps, but TONE muscle by lifting lighter weights with more reps. I suppose there really is quite a bit of misunderstanding out there.

And I appreciate people like you informing me of what's right and what's not. I'm a history professor, not an expert in exercise science. Just as I know there is a bunch of crap being taught about history that is blatantly incorrect leaving me to correct it, I'm thankful for people like you trying to correct the things I had previously been taught that I'm only finding out now were incorrect. Kudos to you for that!
