Love these short little videos with the condensed history of our Faith. The story of the Kings bringing gifts is timeless and endlessly fascinating ❣️

Happy New Year to us all. All Saints and Angels pray for us🙏✝️💖

So there I was, scratching my head on January 6th and wondering if anything noteworthy ever happened on a January 6th. Then an epiphany, as I watched this video. Thank you. Being more versed in a western Christian tradition I either forgot or never knew about this eastern orthodox tradition. I do feel enriched. Now I know where the famous "12 days of Christmas" song which I have heard so often in my life is rooted in. So now I can add January 6th as a "something happened" day on my calendar. Blessings.

Date of Epiphany. In England we have a compromise between keeping it on always Jan 6 or transferring to Sunday. It is normally Jan 6, unless, as in 2024 and 2025, Jan 6 is a Saturday or a Monday in which case it is transferred to Sunday. We also transfer SS Peter and Paul, the Assumption and All Saints if they fall on a Saturday or Monday.

My understanding is the Epiphany was that when the 3 kings arrived they realized Jesus as a new kind of king. Not one of gold and riches, but one who will save the world. So they had an epiphany about the new way. Am I wrong?

Epiphany is the baptism of our Lord Jesus by John the Baptist in the Jordan. How is it related to the visit of the 3 wise men to the baby Jesus?

Why is Jesus considered a Messiah when he never reigned over Israel(not even "the world" according to sacred texts)?
