Funny thing is Lucy is literally in the sky with diamonds, as the probe has lenses made from lab grown diamonds. So it's quite literal lol

Not "retracted"! Try "Deployed"... Retracted is what you do to stow the solar panels. Deployed is when you put them out. Dependent on how the solar panel deployments are powered and controlled, they may eventually freeze in place, much as the science boom did on Voyager 2.

Gosh! I already feel slightly queasy about the James Webb launch on 18th December. This failure has made me even more trepidatious. If those complex foil shields don't open, it's good-bye to almost $9 billion and quite possibly an end to NASA collaborations, particularly with ESA. 😬
