Michael Jackson, Prince, and Bobby Brown were the inspiration for the character Powerline. Michael Jackson was hit hard by allegations of child molestation, so he was not an option to play Powerline. Prince was held hostage by Warner Bros. Bobby Brown was arrested for DUI. Therefore, Disney cast Tevin Campbell to play Powerline.

I love the original version, but this ai cover really shows you that getting MJ to do the songs would have been the biggest success ever lol. You know he would have killed it 10x harder than an ai (this is still a great ai cover tho)
