An insider’s guide to implementing a successful portal

The ArcGIS platform revolves around the concept of a collaborative hub that contains all of your geospatial assets. The hub – also known as a portal – enables users to easily search, discover, create, collaborate and use maps and apps. It is designed to manage an organisation’s geospatial content and knowledge in a secure manner. To create your own portal, ArcGIS Online is the Software as a Service (SaaS) offering, while Portal for ArcGIS enables you to deploy a portal within your own infrastructure.

This presentation will introduce Portal for ArcGIS and its role within the ArcGIS landscape, while providing a general overview of its capabilities, its relationship with ArcGIS for Server and typical deployment patterns.
