Archaeologists Exploring Pompeii Have Unearthed A 2000 Year Old Fast Food Joint

Показать описание
This once-thriving city of Pompeii on Italy's west coast was completely destroyed in 79 A.D. when Mount Vesuvius erupted nearby, burying it behind a thick layer of ash and stone. Even though the eruption took place about two thousand years ago, the town, including its structures and, in some cases, its residents, was preserved in a way that was never before possible.
Since the first excavation, Pompeii has been the longest continuously excavated site ever discovered. Some areas remain a mystery, with a third of the city still buried. Every day archaeologists looking for new discoveries are treated to some extraordinary finds.
