The Terminator reboot plans

He is always very honest in interviews and during promotions of Avatar Way of Water James Cameron has met some major news about the Terminator franchise slip. The Epic franchise has proper reboot plans, no Arnold Schwarzenegger? Crazy or genius?

But I have to ask why do it?

the sarah conner cronicles had an good twist on the terminator ( posible an terminator civil war were there was those terminators that was on the side of the humans) i liked that and then they killed the show on an cliffhanger

Terminator has been rebooted over and over. Even I have issue trying to keep the timelines straight in my head at this point. Now they're talking about washing away the two good movies and starting all over. Pass. Stop trying to mass produce the fucking same god damn thing over and over. At least Salvation tried something unique, it was still a mediocre movie but at least it wasn't the same plot as T2 over and over again.

I saw the first film at the theater when it first came out and loved it. I also loved the second. After that I think they went downhill. I've rewatched the first 2 any number of times.

Cameron has lost it, like Spielberg when he re-did ET or that insipid AI, or like Lucas any day of the week without a handler.

Not holding my breath. Cameron recently came out saying his past movies had too much "testosterone" so it will likely be made for a "modern" audience and fall short. The money would be better spent backing Alita battle angel 2.

The original movies T1, T2, and TSCC was great but dark fate failed because of an utterly bad plotline. Not because of age.

nah leave it and make something new there are plenty of sci fi books out there they could turn into a film or films rather than constantly rehashing old ideas and trying to update them as they often make a mess of them.

better to do a series then a movie, Sarah Conner Cronicles was onto something, but at the time series were unable to do what they can today because the cost of many effects have come down a lot to make it viable. I personaly love the franchise but it has been screwed up so badly that I don't know if it is worth ever returning too.

The worst part for me with dark fate was that they stopped sky net and a new A.I did exactly the same same thing took over the world made terminators and sent them back in time to kill a resistance leader. I liked the idea of left over terminators but they should of had a secondary directive to recreate skynet if it had been stopped not sell drapes

If they do reboot, make Henry Cavill John Connor. Make Reacher’s Alan Ritchson as the Terminator T-800.

Just cast a new Sarah Connor, someone who has an extensive knowledge of weapons and knows how to use them.

Didn’t see the original Terminator in the cinema, only got to watch it on Video rental, (ahhhh Blockbusters, RIP my friend). T2 was amazing in the cinema though. Everything after that was just disappointing at best so no more sequels or hard reboots please, move on…nothing to see here IMO.

Keep the CGI to a bare minimum
Have an original story not based on the previous movies, but is grounded in the AI of today and the near future
Hire virtually unknown actors that can still act with passion and are not wooden and are believable
Keep out the woke B.S. and token diversity hired characters
Have realistic fight choreography
Ie: no 120 lb women or boy knocking out alpha males
No more propping women or any character up as infallible. Would be a good start

If they do a hard reboot I wanna see it set in the 1500's with Leonardo Divinci going back in time to prevent himself from inventing a terminator in the Renaissance.

Would it suck? Probably. But at least it's not something they've done 19 times already.
