👉 Learn how to solve multi-step equations with parenthesis. An equation is a statement stating that two values are equal. A multi-step equation is an equation which can be solved by applying multiple steps of operations to get to the solution.

To solve a multi-step equation with parenthesis, we first use distribution property to remove the parenthesis, then we combine like terms by taking the variable terms to one side of the equality sign and the constant terms to the other side of the equation and evaluate them, and then we can isolate the variable by multiplying both sides by the reciprocal of the coefficient of the variable.

I’m still confused. I have an answer key for my equations. One equation is 18=3(3x-6), and I end up getting a -4, but my answer key says it is positive four. This video isn’t helping me like some of your other videos have been.
