I went with the RG35XXH but I didn’t like the form factor as much as I thought I would. Started playing with it again recently & now that I actually like the software well enough to want to use it, I decided to order an SP which is getting ready to deliver sometime today.

Tip regarding sleep: This device is not capable of using less power while in sleep mode. Change the lip behavior to immediately shutdown (or set a timer) & change the settings so RA automatically creates a save state on shutdown then reloads it on startup to save battery. Of you use RetroAchievements, turn on the setting to wait for network on startup.

The only thing I dislike about it is how the battery sits RIGHT ON THE MOTHERBOARD. One time I was playing mine for about an hour, the battery got really hot, and then the battery died. I tried charging it, and it hasn’t turned on ever since.

Id give it a B+ (based on the updated variant)

Buttons are still a little too clicky and wish the face buttons were about 25% bigger.

Hinge is squeaky and have heard it might break, especially on the translucent colors (i have the red translucent)

The power button seems a bit iffy, sometimes have to re-press and hold it to turn it on.

I dont like the SD cards are on the bottom, exposed.

Various battery/usb power oddities

Screen is nice though and glad they got the close hinge sleep to work properly.

Id say its worth the $50, but would be willing to get a nicer one for around $75 if one was made.
