It follows rumours that the chancellor is thinking of putting up corporation tax to start mending the hole in the public finances caused by the pandemic.

Tonight, we reveal an opinion poll that suggests many voters, including Tory supporters, are ready to accept some tax rises. So are Boris Johnson's Conservatives still the party of low tax and the small state?

Abolish overseas aid and massively reduce welfare for those who refuse to work.

I fail to see the problem. No need for spending cuts or a tax rise. £40 billion is the debt right? You know that £13 billion we were sending to the EU each year? Well there you go, three years and we are straight. No?

Tax the rich and tech companies. If anything their wealth grew throughout this pandemic.

We need greater fiscal capacity tax reform not raising taxes it vital for that, now big data is a cornerstone of that.🧠 tax incentives can finance infrastructure, tax refunds for lower income earners, tax breaks for higher income earners, tax cuts for those now earning less. Tax exporting to raise capital. Turning the UK into a tax haven I think would be a nice touch too.💰🤑💷💲💶💴💵💱

The rich must pay more tax. Especially those with more than one house or a business with houses they do not use for their employees. It is true raise the taxes now for the rich. No-matter what they say we pumped 10 times more into quantitative easing (giving the rich free money) than we did covid. Do not they lie about that.

How about we abolish the Bank of England and return to a gold/silver standard? No, that's a bad idea, because it would lead to prosperity and freedom.

This is why 10m people voted for Jeremy Corbyn in the 2019 election. The labour manifesto had suggested that we raise taxes for the 1% and increase government spending. Raising corporation tax and introducing an online tax will help pay off the debt and put the UK back on track. But I fear what will eventually happen is 99% of the public will end up paying for this crisis rather then the top 1%. The Tory government will make the British public pay for this.

Either there is a legitimate role for the academic community to study, design and debate how socio-techno-political systems work, or we can just do polling.
The polling selection is not randomised. 'Sample of 1000' is not news worthy. Heck, the polling questions aren't not even valid (a technical question for the non-professionals) and the sample categorisation is not valid (binary party supporters). All this polling is not relevant and yet is at the centre of this reporting.
