This was an assignment for a multimedia course I did in university - to understand and explain Bruno Latour's Actor Network Theory (ANT).
I used Unity3D to create the environments and used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the video. Kindly wear headphones to enjoy the 8D audio :)

Good Lord, Aditi and team!! This was by far the best explanation of the beautiful ANT. I am a master's student studying HCI at UW, Seattle. I am immensely thankful to you and your entire team. As a reviewer, you video has excellent use of 3D visuals to explain the concept, the music builds up the mysterious vibe, the voice of the narrator - the pauses and the voice modulation are aligning with the whole vibe of this creation. Latour's theory has been done full justice by this masterpiece that you all have created. Please accept my regards. This made my day!

I have a theory that network theories can describe the strange darkmatter rotation in galaxy's.

Think about an object like a liquid. You stir it around, and the outermost circumference of the liquid trails behind as you expect. But now you take a more solid object like a top, and you spin it around. The outer circumference spins with it. What really is the difference between water and the top? It's the connection between the atoms...a liquid is less connected then a solid.

So think about Dark Matter in Galaxy rotation. Does dark matter actually exist? Or rather, is it just that the objects in these galaxies are connected like a complex network that makes the galaxy spin as if it were a top rather than a liquid.

In addition I believe that network theories conserve locality, which is a hot debated topic in physics right now. Thinking about notions of distance like in this video. You have the Cake and the constituent's that came from the farm that made the cake. If you were to draw some notion of distance between these two elements, you realize that the notion of distance between them is based on how connected the network is. In this way, if you were to draw such a network on a graph, the length of the connection between elements becomes trivially non-important...that an element 10 light years away, might be highly connected to an element as if it were 5 meters away.

So the notion of space might just be defined as a kind of network of connections. These connections actually define notions of distances, and this preserves the idea that things are "local" because the notion of locality is not based on Euclidean geometry but network topology.

Cheers,

This actually really helped me start to think about actor-network theory, especially the animation of rotating interconnected nodes. I'm curious what your inspiration was for that element
