I used those fabrics as a jelly roll to make the jelly roll jam quilt as a Christmas present for my grandma, she said that I could have done a bit better on the border but I really didn't mind cause it was my first quilt and I thought it looked pretty good

I love this! QUESTION though, most layer cakes have 40-42 squares, would I just make more blocks? With 42 I could get another row.
