So Wait… What Was Yuji’s Domain Expansion Again?

Yuji Itadori uses his Domain Expansion against Sukuna, and then we saw their fight continue and even come to an end, but if I can have a vulnerable moment with the rest of you, I have no idea what his Domain Expansion actually does. Like okay, we see that in his domain he’s able to take Sukuna through different memories of his life or atleast his perception of his town at different moments in history, giving Sukuna a chance to see what a normal life is like, as he pleads with the King of Curses to let Megumi go and just live normally alongside Yuji and his friends from within Itadori’s body. I feel like before this final arc where Domains were more set in stone, I wouldn’t be so confused because eventually Yuji lands a sure hit attack on Sukuna via his Dismantle, and that’s how he more or less wins, however since you can change your Auto Hit attack and really a lot of different things about your domain using Binding Vows, i’m not sure if the Sure Hit of Yuji’s domain is ALWAYS the Soul Slicing Dismantle, or if he can make it something else like a Black Flash considering how hard he cooked in this final battle. Either way, i’m not expecting to see the domain again before the series ends and even Yuji admits he kinda winged it, but what was YOUR interpretation of how Yuji’s domain works?

I think Yuji's domain is how most people's domains would actually look like. It's his inner world. He just only activated its effect when he was sure he had no other choice.

The reason that other sorcerers' domains don't look like this is because they're SORCERERS, and have always been sorcerers. Their world is jujutsu, thus, their domain reflects that. But Yuji had led a normal life up until just recently, so his domain just looks... normal.

His Domain has Soul Dismantle as it’s Sure Hit. The whole build up to it in the chapter where he finally does it makes this huge point about how Yuji can’t hit Sukuna despite how hard he tries because Sukuna has recovered his RCT and regenerated his missing limbs to overpower Yuji and avoid any of Yuji’s attacks. Yuji thinks back to what Gojo said about Domain Expansions and unleashed his to ensure that he can hit Sukuna with his Soul Dismantles now

His domain was just like Shrine, but it was focused on "range and accuracy" as opposed to "strength". It totally focused on severing the tie between Fushiguro and Sukuna. He basically had the power of "exorcism".

His domain sure hit is dismantle… u can see the scissors on Sukuna after Nobara hits him with ressonance and disrupts his hollow wicker basket, then the dismantle hits him while Yuji isn’t touching him. Gege doesn’t say it’s dismantle but he shows us.
Now, I think it was the soul dismantle because of the binding vows, and he probably could use the “regular” dismantle as the sure hit if he wanted to.

The illusionary part was more Yuji using his soul to communicate with Sakuna as they’ve share a body and his sure hit attack allowed for a connection to form, adding this feature actually weakened Yuji’s domain’s damaging properties. This is why Sukuna called it a mock domain later that could’nt defeat him.
His actual sure hit was just the dismantles scissors that were shown after Yuji broke hallow wicker basket but with Yuji’s curse technique running low and the forced inclusion of his forced soul bonding the domains sure hit was weakened as well.
Sukuna realized using his anti domain was pointless with how easy it was for Yuji to break, how dangerous Yuji’s punches were that attack his soul directly, how much curse energy it cost along with using two hand and his other mouth to maintain. He decided to just tank the cuts since they weren’t life threatening just annoying, instead he focused all his power into dealing damage on Yuji which also ends the domain.

At some point, two large white Scissor Lines appear on Sukuna as Yuji screams "DISMANTLE"

In all the times he has used Shrine, everytime a Scissor line appeared, it was CLEAVE

The first time Dismantle appeared, it was just white shock lines as he hit Sukuna's soul using Shrine for the first time

So maybe his Domain is in a Binding Vow that, in order to aim only at the soul, he must need to make an ATTEMPT at convincing the enemy to just jump off and reborn a better person, but if the person refuses, he will personally do it for them himself.
