Shinjuku would've been an utter disaster without Yuji, Mahito would basically go unchecked, The Culling Games would have caught a few bodies etc etc. Yuji is undoubtedly one of the most important in the story.

Since Yuji *did* have cursed energy, just too little to do any significant damage.
Only two characters that we know didn't have any cursed energy at all are Toji and formerly Maki.

Yuji went from probably top 15 to a no doubt, top 5 in the Shinjuku Showdown arc, this definitely deserves a tier for himself like that.

Gonna have to disagree with megumi being able to beat the finger bearer in the cursed womb arc, yeah he didn't get significantly stronger between the two fights, but you kinda ignored the context of the second fight, like Gojo said in the flashback, the thing holding megumi back was his mindset, and it seems like he remembered that conversation and that caused his mindset to finally change, that conversation doesn't happen until after the baseball game, so he wouldn't have any reason to get pushed over the egde and change his mindset. And start of series nobara definitely gets washed

Megumi literally only won against the stronger finger bearer cause he got a domain expansion due to seeing Yuji get stronger. Megumi would NOT have won in the cursed womb arc

2:39 Idk why you glaze Nobara in her introduction arc, they practically put in the same amount of work.

In fact Nobara gets humbled for thinking she could do the mission without Yuji. Yuji kills 1 curse, Nobara kills 1 curse and they both kill the final one together.


3:23 In the curse womb arc Yuji is busy holding off the strongest curse alone. Megumi was like: “I’m gonna dip and save Nobara’s useless ass cuz I’m not built for this.”

Megumi didn’t have the confidence at the time to use domain and was all around weaker at that time. Megumi barely won his fight at the end of season one, like he literally collapsed after winning.


6:40 Death painting arc again with the Nobara glazing. Yuji is already carrying her away as soon as the fight begins. He would’ve been fine since the poison didn’t affect him at all. Yuji was dealing all the major damage, Nobara just immobilised them.

7:22 Yuji beat the strongest disaster curse so I don’t even wanna hear Jogo. How was he ever gonna beat Kenjaku? Gojo got indirectly folded by Kenjaku that arc. They all jumped Uraume and got clapped.

In that arc alone he almost beat Choso, clapped a grass hopper, clapped Mahito and was pressing Yuta.

8:38 Yuji got Hakari on the team, got Higaruma on the team (with all the points) and forcing Sukuna to use his technique on Yuji (never did that for maki just sayin).

i will say that when someone gets a cursed technique, it engraves itself into them so they instantly know how to use cursed energy and how to use their cursed technique, and since yuji has no cursed technique he doesent know how to use cursed energy until taught by someone on how to do it. essentially nobara had a headstart and knew how to use her CE and CT since like 5-6 while yuji had no CT and as such had to have actual training

3:00 I think that’s a weird take since if Yuji wasn’t there, Nobara would have failed her first mission. I doubt things would get ugly since Gojo was supervising, but it’s weird to downgrade Yuji’s contribution with a hypothetical situation that went out of Nobara’s character—where if she didn’t have a moral, she would’ve clapped the curses—rather than focusing on what actually happened and Yuji’s overall contribution. Which in this case, he saved a kid and Nobara, killed one curse, and assisted with killing the last curse so I think he would be ranked in decent—same as the first arc.

There is a few things that bother me, but the only one that matters is at 1:54. Megumi is slower running than Yuji, but he cannot just use Nue or his Dogs to chase after him. (Jujutsu is supposed to be a secret) Megumi could not beat that curse in the first episode (on the roof) without Yuji's (or Sukuna I suppose) help. So Megumi stood no chance against the Special Grade in the Cursed Womb Arc.

The people who have been calling him useless (if they even exist) have been real quiet since this final arc started cooking, he's always been pretty cool and likeable as an MC, pretty realistic feeling, just not the most powerful...But now, It's his time, he is HIM and will continue to be HIM.
