I appreciate that Matt LeBlanc recognized that it wasn't the role for him. A lot of actors get very cocky after years in the spotlight and feel like they could do any role that comes their way.
It's was a great decision since no one can play Phil like Ty Burrell.

There will be no other Phil Dunphy for me but Ty Burrell. He is the perfect personification of a childish, cheerleader, realtor and fun dad in this realm.

The extra-funny part about FIZBO is that this is a term for a home that is for sale by-owner (FSBO, sounds like fizbo). And since Phil is a realtor and is terrified of both Fizbo and FSBO, that's some accidental brilliance right there.
