Koh-I-Noor Polycolor colored pencil review. The perfect Prismacolor replacement

Показать описание
In this video I review the Koh I Noor Polycolor colored pencils. These colored pencils are made in the Czech Republic.

These colored pencils are hexagonal with the names printed on each pencil. Although it is unlisted these function like oil based pencils. These Koh-I-Noor Polycolor colored pencil are wonderfully pigmented and blend really well. I was completely surprised by the quality of these pencils.

After I completed this review it came to my attention that these appear to be the same pencils as the Blick Art store brand pencils. So will be testing that in the future.

Those are really good. I am in Germany and paid 25 bucks for 48. :) I couldn't afford Faber Castell colored pencils so I am happy I found this alternative.

I just got this same set and your video is very helpful. I agree about the smaller barrel. Noticed that right away. They are very good pencils on the whole.

Hi Karia, I remember on one of your recent reviews "can't remember the product", you made the comment that you would have liked to see more suitable skin tones. I thought of you when I came across a listing on ebay today for a 24 piece Portrait artists set within these Koh-I-Noor Polycolours - which covers the whole spectrum of ethnic skin tones in a pretty well balanced selection. I really think the way they have put together these colour palette sets for specific interest is well conceived and means you can get the colours you need without having to buy ridiculously large and expensive sets. The 24 piece landscape set seems right up my street and those greys.

Glad to see you are back. I have both the polycolor and watercolor sets of 72. They are surprisingly good quality and they color well. Cheers!

It should be mentioned the Koh-I-Noor Polycolor pencils are oil based just like the Faber Castell Polychromos. The Koh-I-Noor would be a great alternative if someone doesn't have the money to spend on the Polychromos.

I was curious about these pencils so I was glad to see that you made a review on them. After watching your review I ordered a set of thirty six from Amazon, and after using them one time, I wish I had ordered the seventy two set. You said they would deliver and they did just that.

Stewie! :D
The price for these is amazing and your test piece looks really good!
I have the woodless ones and they fascinate me for their weight and the fact that' I'm holding a huge lead (but I don't really use them all that much lol).

I was waiting for your opinion video to see if I should buy them or not. Now I am sure I will. Thank you!

I snapped a woodless one taking it out of the tray :O. I am also heavy handed, so I don't use them. I told my boyfriend he can have them. They do color nicely they are just too delicate for me. I do use and love the set you have there. I added a few colors buying them open stock from AC Moore. I still covet FC Polychromos - but in the meantime these are awesome :-)

You should review the Blick Studio Artists' Colored Pencils. They are made by the same manufacturer of the Koh-i-noor colored pencils. I wonder if they are exactly the same? The Blick colored pencils are also a little bit cheaper too.

I live in Slovakia and Koh-I-Noor products are quite expensive here. They are great but quite soft for me. I dont like soft pencils. Landscape set is really great, especially one blue colour number 139. You cant get some colours from landscape and portrait sets in open stock neither in any other set. The same for greys.

The pencils of this brand you showed in the beginning (the set of greys, the brown set, and the two sets of 36), do you know if those ones are included in the 72 set? Cos if they aren’t, that would bump up the number of pencils available in this brand quite a bit. Does anyone know about that? Are the grey set etc separate from the 72 set?
