Try this instead of arpeggios on guitar

These runs use the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th notes of the major scale, as opposed to an arpeggio, which is just the 1st, 3rd, and 5th. After you play 1-2-3-5, you can move it up an octave and repeat! This works over any major chord. I demonstrate starting on the 6th string, then starting on the 5th string. Once you've got it down, try adding a phrase at the end to make it your own!
