I'm Pro-Palestinian because I'm Jewish (Here's why)

I completely agree as a Jewish person as well, but when I said something along similar lines to my family, they said I'm prohamas somehow when all I said is I'm antiwar and I want a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

I‘m German. My grandfather is guilty of being part of the genocide machine. I can‘t say what‘s right to do in this conflict, but I do know what‘s wrong. It‘s wrong to support a state that harms surrounding villages and settlements with their expansionist politics and views Palestinians as sub-human. And it‘s also wrong to hurt or in any way harass jewish people around the world, who don’t have anything to do with the governing decisions of Israel (antisemitism is sadly on the rise again). My family has committed atrocities and I do sometimes feel guilty for that. But I as a person still don‘t deserve to be harassed because of shit I vehemently distance myself from and I couldn‘t do much about.

Well said, and brave of you to do so.
Here in Ireland, all the political parties are against the genocide.
The government does not support Hamas, far from it. However, we have a particular sympathy for those suffering from famine and hunger, in particular an enforced famine as is being seen in Palestine.
When you hear representatives of Israel justifying the blockade of food, you know they view the Palestians as sub human.

Imagine if the KKK organized a terrorist attack, and the government responded by targeting all white christians. That is exactly what is happening right now with hamas.

As a white agnostic woman who was raised Christian i could not be further removed from this conflict so i have been trying to listen specifically to people who are emotionally impacted via race/religion/ethnicity/etc and/or those well educated on the matter so i really appreciate you sharing your perspective in a measured and nuanced way ❤

I love that. People often blindly pick the side that their roots are from rather than one that actually aligns with their beliefs and values as a person.

Religion is not what's important here, it's the fact that people are being slaughtered in a crossfire that they never should have been caught in the middle of.
